How to get Instant PDF from PrintMaster Files

PrintMaster Platinum 16, a software package by Broderbund, is used to the create cards, calendars, labels and similar projects for printing on home laser or inkjet printers. This printing program is not recommended for users who want to get high-quality documents for printing on lithographic or digital press.

A user-friendly Professional Printing option has been added by Broderbund to Printmaster. This option converts Printmaster files to PDF files which meet some requirements for high-quality printing. The PDF file saves the imported photographs at full resolution and converts them to CMYK. You can get decent print quality from the pictures that come bundled with Printmaster if they are used at the size they first appear on your screen. These photographs can be enlarged little bit, up to 10% or 15%, without loss of the quality. Below is a step-by-step description on how to use the Professional Printing option to convert PrintMaster files to PDF files:

1. Goto Tools/Options/General Options and check the box beside "Optimal Printing Resolution"
   
   
2. Go to File/Printer Setup/Printer Setup.
   
   
3. Select Broderbund PDF Converter v2.10d under "Name".
   
   
4. Go to File/Professional Printing.
   
   
5. Choose "Save As PDF".
   
   
6. Type the name of the PDF file you want to save in "Project Name".
   
   
7. Select 600 dpi under "PDF Resolution".
   
   
8. Click on "Save As". On the next screen, browse to the exact folder where you want to save the file.
   
   
9. Click the "Save" button.
   
   
10. Your PDF file will be saved to the folder you have selected.
    
    
11. Open the file in Adobe Acrobat to make sure all the content and pages are there and it looks as you wanted.

1. PrintMaster recommends standard page size because it is used to print cards and calendars to your laser or ink-jet printer. Customized page size may not work properly.
   
   
2. Background or content that print to the edge of the page should not be used. These are not printed correctly by PrintMaster. Your pages must have white margins and there should not be anything printed on them.
