How to Install the Print Pelican Magazine Printing PDF Extensions for Mac OS 9

(It is assumed that Acrobat Distiller 4.x-5.x is already installed on your computer.)

This is a complete set of instruction that will help you install the Print Pelican Magazine Printing PDF Extensions for Mac OS X. There are four basic steps for it

STEP ONE:

1. 1.Download PDF Extensions for OS9.sit
   
   
2. Save the files to your hard drive by extracting the files from the sit archive
   
   
3. Print the page and follow the instructions below

STEP TWO: Installing the Prinergy virtual printer

1. Search for the folder named “Prinergy 2.0 ppd for Mac” which you have downloaded and extracted in Step 1
   
   
2. The file “Prinergy Refiner” ppd should be copied to Macintosh HD: System Folder\Extensions\Printer Descriptions
   
   
3. Congratulations! Your virtual printer is now installed. This printer will be used by you to make commercial print-quality PDF files using your Macintosh applications

STEP THREE: Installing the Acrobat Distiller plug-in

1. 1.Search for the folder named “Extension for Distiller 4-5” which you have downloaded and extracted in Step 1
   
   
2. Double-click the installer
   
   
3. Open Acrobat Distiller
   
   
4. Now you will see the Prinergy Pages item in the drop-down menu of Job Options
   
   
5. Congratulations! You are now ready to make PDF files for high-resolution commercial printing

STEP FOUR: Installing CreoColorTiff XT

1. The Creo Color Tiff XT will help QuarkXPress to output colorized TIFF images correctly for a composite PDF 1.3 workflow
   
   
2. Copy the file “CreoColorTiffXT.xnt” to Macintosh HD: Applications (Mac OS 9)\QuarkXPress\XTension
   
   
3. The file “CreoColorTiffXT.xnt” can be copied by going to the folder named “Extension for Quark 4-5”
   
   
4. Restart your QuarkXPress
